Drop by The Greene in Sage, Texas to discover wide, open spaces for yourself.

Sage, Texas was developed between the ranches of Samuel Randle and Thomas Barry, the Founding Friends, not long after they returned to Texas from fighting in the Civil War. They founded Sage to be a seat of wisdom and education rather than industry and politics. Instead of a square in the middle of town there is a large oval park known as The Greene.
This template is built on the very powerful S5 Vertex Framework, which comes packed with amazing features! Learn More About Vertex...

These features are in addition to the standard functions of Vertex, and are still controlled through the very user friendly interface of Vertex. This page will document the features specific to this template.

Template Specific Configuration Interface of Vertex

Below is a screenshot that shows all the template specific features available in the user friendly Vertex admin:

Light or Dark Side Column

The main side column that contains the menu and logo can easily be changed between a light or dark style. The flex menu and font colors in the column also adjust with this setting. Click the links below for live demos.

LIVE EXAMPLE - See a demo of the light version

Floating Side Column

Ambient has a unique layout where the menu, logo, search, login/register, and custom_1 positions are all found in a side column. This column can either be fixed so that it stays in view as you scroll down the page, or non-floating and it scrolls with the page instead.

Custom Highlight Colors

Stylize your site with any color you want. Set your own custom color scheme with the built in highlight colors. These control menu items, titles, buttons, hover over effects, backgrounds, and much more. You can set this color to any color that you want. Below is an example so you can see how this works.

Custom Highlight Font

Choose a custom highlight font powered by Google fonts. You can set a custom font for the titles, buttons, and much more. This is used in conjunction with the default site font which is controlled under the Layout tab of Vertex, and controls many other elements as well.

Uppercase Letters

Choose to enable or disable uppercase letters on most menu items, buttons, titles and more.

Disable Subtext

Choose to enable or disable the subtext on the Flex Menu first level parent items. This subtext is controlled from the menu manager.

Hide Menu Arrows

Login, Register, and Search

This items are disabled on the demo, but can easily be enabled as shown below.

Module Title Font-Weight

By default the first word in each module title contains a bold font-weight. You can turn this feature on or off from the admin.

What's Happening Next?

My current work in progress is The Sage Manifesto. I'm up to about 56 pages and 8 chapters. It tells the story of how the founders of Sage, Texas created the guiding principles for Sage, or The Sage Manifesto. The time period is 1867. Three civil war veterans have been on different adventures since the end of the war. They are ready to come home and build a different world. They are returning to the US and Texas after a Grand Tour of Europe. They want to get back to the wide-open spaces of Texas and watching longhorns graze. Just before the ships leaves Le Harve, France, two of the group gets into a lot of trouble. Instead of enjoying their stateroom cabins, they are going to make the voyage in steerage with goats. One of them has pretty bad wound. I'm pulling for these guys, because I have a lot invested in Sage, but I don't know. Things are looking good for them at the moment.

And that’s not all: We throw open our doors to God and discover at the same moment that he has already thrown open his door to us. We find ourselves standing where we always hoped we might stand
