I was attracted to this book because it was mentioned in a conference I attended. Many of the authors are from different church cultures than I am. And many them I have previously read and been encouraged by.

This book was about Christmas and the advent of Christ. It has daily readings from some of the world’s loved spiritual writers. It begins November 24 goes through January 7th. 

Things I liked about this book Each reading was beautifully written and provided powerful spiritual wisdom.   

Why you should read this book This is a great Christmas devotional reading. I would definitely put it on the list for next Christmas. I started in the middle of Advent and finished a few days late this year, but I plan to re-read it next year. However, it would be a great read anytime you need some encouragement. 

This book lived up to the back cover copy The back promises this will bring new meaning to ‘holiday preparations.’ It does help prepare your heart to be open to receive the gifts that our glorious Father is offering us in the birth of Jesus.
