Old Friends…
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has become a child of God. And everyone who loves the Father loves his children, too. 2 We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments. 1 John 5:1-2, NLT
Bob Rucker’s song, OLD FRIENDS has a wonderful line, “You can’t make old friends.” It always makes me think of my childhood friendships for which time means nothing.
This weekend, I was at the C. S. Lewis Foundation retreat with both fairly recent and brand new friends. I’m still basking in their presence. Now, I take exception to Bob Rucker’s statement. Friends we make in Christ immediately become ‘old friends.’
