This week, as I prepared to teach second graders the story of Jesus walking on water, I realized how much I needed this story in my life and especially in my writing.

What if I change Jesus’ command ‘come’ to Peter to ‘write’ to me.

This one word command from Jesus holds all the confirmation and power I need.

I learn from Peter’s mistake to keep my eyes on Jesus.

And the great lesson, to put one foot in front of the other.

A song I found which spurred me forward in this thinking was Walking on Water by Elevation Rhythm.
