It is almost impossible for me to pick a favorite song from John Denver's album, "Poems, Prayers And Promises."

I shouldn't have to give any explanation for this choice. It lifted and encouraged me on my darkest days for over forty years. 

One day, when I was in my early thirties, my Mom told me in a teary voice, "I heard on the radio today why you aren't married."

Valentines I've never known and invented lovers on the phone are still a part of my life, even though seventeen is long gone. 

This always seems to be true... 

I took Music Appreciation in the same semester as Creative Writing. I studied this Bach piece during the time my first story was due. One night, while listening to the piece, words came to me forming a short story. This work was the inspiration for my first story.
