Last weekend, I went flying with my brother in a Cherokee. He passed his pilot’s test last month. We flew out to Cedar Creek Lake to see if we could find our Aunt and Uncle’s lake property.

This weekend I ran out of printer ink. Doesn’t that sound pretty innocent?

Last week, Ishtar, one of my all time favorite movies, was brought to mind when one of my bosses made the statement ‘I am not going to be popular for a couple of weeks.’ When the choice of telling the truth or being popular is presented to me, the theme song from Ishtar, Dangerous Business, always starts to play in my head.

In North Texas, the cicada’s fill the trees and sing all day long. The hotter it gets the louder they sing. From my office, I can hear them. I’ve always thought the triple digit heat made the trees creak. It sounds like all of creation is chanting over and over ‘Itsssssss Soooooo HHHHH-OOOO-TTTT!.‘l

Toward the end of the regular football season, I was amused by an article discussing the legacy of players like Tony Roma and Tom Brady. The author asked had we already seen their legacies or were they still begin shaped?
I all the years I have been a fan of collegiate sports, the one program, I never expected a scandal from was Joe Paterno's. I've always respected what he did on and off the field. With today's re-arrest of the assistant coach I am just sad and my image of honor among coaches tarnished a little more.

Driving towards Amarillo this afternoon, I watched the most amazing sunset. The wide Texas a panorama view. The sunlight was fading into a soft palette of color. Where the sun couldn't reach on the horizon was dark blue, not black. The day's sky was a crystal blue. High in they daylight sky, juxtaposed to the flocks of birds flying low, were several jet streams streaking across the sky. Just as darkness covered my journey deer were grazing on the side of the highway.
I can't recall ever being so aware of twilight. In my hotel room I looked up the dictionary definition of twilight. What I experienced was straight off the page, (screen in this instance,) these beautiful colors at the end of a successful day.
My Dad grew up in the 30’s during the depression. He is somewhat a hoarder.
The hospital has a huge aquarium in the surgery waiting room.
Whenever I think I have fully recovered from chemo, something happens to remind of how devastating the effects were on me.
My Dad’s hospital room is in one of the large newly designed rooms at our local hospital. Our window faces north toward the city.
